Apocalypse Now (1979)

Like most movie critics, Mr. Man could watch Apocalypse Now (1979) now and forever. Loosely based on the Joseph Conrad novella “Heart of Darkness” (1899), Francis Ford Coppola’s Academy Award-nominated adaptation is a cinematic classic. Updated to take place in 1969 during the Vietnam War, this trippy flick follows Captain Benjamin L. Willard (Martin Sheen) into Cambodia on a secret mission to knock out U.S. Army Special Forces Colonel Walter E. Kurtz (Marlon Brando) since he’s lost his mind. Initially sent into the Viet Cong to perform hit and runs, Kurtz has changed his views and become a demigod of sorts. Naturally, Willard’s assassination mission takes a turn for the worse. But before’s he’s kidnapped and tortured, he encounters straight-laced Colonel G. Lucas (Harrison Ford) and a bunch of offbeat servicemen including Captain Richard M. Colby (Scott Glenn); former New Orleans chef Jay Hicks (Frederic Forrest); Orange County surfer (Sam Bottoms); Tyrone “Mr. Clean” Miller (Laurence Fishburne); and Lieutenant Colonel Kilgore (Robert Duvall) who commands the 1st Squadron as well as the silver screen. The movie also includes Colleen Camp, Dennis Hopper, and Mr. Sheen’s fab physique! The R rated pic begins with a shirtless Willard moving around in his briefs. As such, flesh fans can ogle his hairy chest just three minutes into the movie. Better yet, when Martin pulls off his panties, we get to peek at the Sheen peen and pubes! Minutes later, the naked babe’s T&A can be seen in the shower. Apocalypse Now? More like Apocalypse Wow!
