Born in the city that never sleeps in the winter of 1949, Don Scardino seemed destined for a career in Hollywood, he just probably never imagined he'd take the various paths to one that he took! After making his screen debut at the age of 15 in a pair of episodes of The Patty Duke Show, Don's acting career was off and running! He soon appeared on such hit TV shows as Guiding Light, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, The Whiteoaks of Jaina, and Ryan's Hope! Star Wars fans may also recognize Don as the voice of Wedge Antilles on The Empire Strikes Back Radio Drama, while soap fans know him best from his two year run as Dr. Chris Chapin on Another World. In the late 80s, however, Don more or less left acting behind to embark on a television directing career, starting by helming several episodes of Another World. From there, he landed plum jobs directing TV movies and episodes of such popular long-running shows as Murphy Brown, Rescue Me, Ed, 30 Rock, 2 Broke Girls, and 14 episodes of Law and Order, continuing to direct well into the new millennium! Sadly, Don never took the opportunity during his acting days to shoot a nude scene, though his role in the cautionary drama The People Next Door (1970) did bring us his sexiest on-screen moment! A shirtless Don gets confronted by his parents Hal Holbrook and Cloris Leachman when they find drugs in his room, giving us plenty of time to drink in the sight of his sexy bod! Life would've been different had we grown up next door to Don!
