Review

No one was quite sure how the world would respond to a Hunger Games prequel eight years after the original movies concluded with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. It turns out, the world was hungry for more teen bloodshed, which is good news for 2020s up and coming star Tom Blyth. In The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes Blyth has the dubious distinction of portraying young Coriolanus Snow, who is by all accounts a certified A-hole, later in life at least. Was this always the case? 64 years before Katniss entered the picture he was one of the last of the Snow family, who are eager to carry on their pedigree and maintain their reputation as the bad bitches in town. Young Coriolanus is tasked with mentoring a promising young woman from District 12, Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), and it is this connection that sends Coriolanus into battle not just IRL, but also with his inner demons. Luckily for us Tom Blyth is quite the cutie, and we get to enjoy him shirtless in a couple of shots, including one in which he just wears his white boxers! Too bad he wasn't a Thongbird!
