The bodacious Billy Porter is a singer (“Love Yourself”), actor (Cinderella), and writer (Ghetto Superstar: The Man That I Am). If that’s not enough, the openly gay fashionista has been known to strut his stuff on plenty of Red Carpets. Certainly, he’s come a long way from his Pentecostal rearing in Pennsylvania. After graduating from the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts School and the College of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University, Billy studied screenwriting at UCLA. He also picked up the $100,000 prize while competing on Star Search in 1992. Since then, Porter won over Broadway fans as Teen Angel in the revival of Grease (1994) and Lola in Kinky Boots (2013). The latter paid off with Tony, Grammy, and Drama Desk Award victories. Meanwhile, on the small screen, Billy could be seen playing Little Richard in the TV movie Shake, Rattle and Roll: An American Love Story (1997). The boob tube cutie also popped up in character on series hits (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Big C, The Twilight Zone) and as himself on various other shows (Saturday Night Live, So You Think You Can Dance, Gossip Girl). Of course, Porter’s big break came when he was cast as Pray Tell on Pose (2018-2021), for which he received many accolades. The LGBTQ subculture saga has Billy swapping spit with co-star Norm Lewis. In another scene, the ebony actor flaunts his panties and pecs for an equally shirtless Dyllón Burnside who greets him with a post-sex breakfast. Bone appétit!
