It took actor Liam Carney a little while before he discovered that he had raw acting talent. The Irish native was always interested in music and he has released two albums as a musician. Before he was an actor, he worked in the Civil Service. He left the job because he feared that it would destroy him as he watched several of his buddies develop alcohol problems and even die in alcohol-related deaths. He decides to become an actor and leave everything behind to take this risk. This was indeed a risk because his first wife even divorced him after the pair tried living on a meager actors' salary. That was before he hit it big, of course! The actor and father of six wound up starring in major Hollywood projects such as Glenroe as Kevin Haughey, Angela's Ashes, The Boxer, Gangs of New York, Braveheart as Sean, and his debut role in The Commitments in 1991. That's a lot of critically acclaimed work under Liam's belt! Speaking of belts, Liam finally takes his off in the film The Shadow of Violence (2019) where he plays Fannigan.
