An assassin puts himself at risk while hiding out in the Italian countryside in Anton Corbijn's The American (2010). No stranger to being an American hiding out in Italy himself, George Clooney stars as Jack, a killer-for-hire who botches a job in Sweden and doesn't feel safe enough to go to the safe house his boss Pavel (Johan Leysen) tries to send him to. Instead, Jack holes up in a tiny Italian mountain town and waits for his instructions. He should be living as an absolute ghost, but while he waits, he becomes friends with a local priest (Paolo Bonacelli) and FWBs with the town bicycle Clara (Violante Placido). Eventually, his boss sets him up with a gig making a custom sniper rifle for a woman named Mathilde (Thekla Reuten). Jack is convinced everyone's after him, including Clara, Mathilde, and some mysterious guy who he keeps seeing around town. Is he right? Well, he's not one hundred percent wrong. After all, hitmen don't get to retire from the job with a gold watch and a 401K. Now, we want to be very clear that we don't get a full frontal shot of George Clooney. Seeing that All-American man meat put Mr. Man in the E.R. But while the American dreamboat George doesn't get completely naked, he does get sweaty in a duo of shirtless workout scenes. Now that deserves a twenty-one-gun salute! But that's not all! While you'd already pulled your pants down watching him do those pullups, George shows his buns in a blink and you'll miss it shot while he's putting his pants on. No undies necessary, we guess! Our all-American boy brings the booty to the boot in The American!
