(1968), Child’s Play (1972), Class (1983), Dead Poets Society (1989), School Ties (1992), Bad Education (2004), Handsome Devil (2016), Boarding School (2018), and The Holdovers (2023). Who doesn’t love a movie set in a male boarding school? Of course, this question is rhetorical so there’s no need to raise your hand. However, raising another part of your anatomy may come up while watching Toy Soldiers (1991). Not to be confused with The Toy Soldiers (2014), this R-rated flick follows a gang of rebellious teens who must defend their boarding school from a terrorist. Billy Tepper (Sean Astin) was kicked out of three different private schools before landing at The Regis School, where he becomes friends with the equally incorrigible Joey Trotta (Wil Wheaton), who is the delinquent son of a prominent Mafia don (Jerry Orbach). The guys also hang out with fellow pranksters Hank Giles (T.E. Russell), Ricky Montoya (George Perez), Snuffy Bradberry (Keith Coogan), and Phil Donoghue (Knowl Johnson) much to the chagrin of Headmaster Dr. Robert Gould (Denholm Elliott). But when a crazed gunman (Andrew Divoff) invades their campus and takes the entire student body hostage, Billy and Joey finally find a productive use for their troublemaking talents. Even though this ain’t no military academy, Sean still manages to strip-search himself when he climbs out of a window naked at the 01:09:04 mark. The skintastic act reveals his back and ass, making him a T&A Student!
