Busenfreunde (1997)

The boob tube flick Busenfreunde (1997) aka “best friends” in English follows the titular foursome—Guido (Jan Josef Liefers), Nina (Jennifer Nitsch), Bernhard (Ulrich Noethen), and Markus (Stefan Reck)—as they go about their daily lives, building their careers and looking for love. Sounds a bit like the German version of Friends, right? Even though they’ve been amigos since childhood, they have very little in common: Guido is a macho womanizer all the women throw themselves at, Bernard is a hopeless, ultra-timid virgin who spends more time in the psychiatrist’s office than trying to get with women, Markus is an unemployed actor who is hiding a secret (y'all know what it is) from his buddies, and Nina is cynical gal trying to get over being dumped by her boyfriend. They’re all such good friends that they decide to move in together, a decision that is dominated by one simple rule—no one is allowed to have sex with one another. Their domestic arrangement is working well until Marcus’ hunk cousin Peter (Michael von Au) moves in and catches Nina’s eye and crotch. Suddenly, there's tons of roommate-on-roommate mating that makes their whole living situation a chaotic one. What was really bussin (do people still say that?) in Busenfreunde was when Guido got naked. To really drive home the idea that Jan Josef's character is the type of guy who could hop in bed with a new girl every night, we get a look at Mr. Josef's German sausage while taking a phone call, totally nude in the bathroom. Ring ring, that's one nice ding-a-ling! Mr. Man would be happy to let him move in, but don't think he wouldn't make a move on him! Busenfreunde is full of dudes we'd like to make out best friends with benefits!
