Cóyotl: Hero and Beast (2025)

The Mexican MAX Original Series Cóyotl: Hero and Beast, which debuted on the streaming service in early 2025, and dives into the tense relationship between Mexico and the United States, as seen through the eyes of a drug cartel leader. When the mayor of a small Mexican border town makes a deal with a powerful drug cartel, it sets off a war between the rival drug gangs, with kindly old rancher Don Neto and his apprentice Lupe (Alejandro Speitzer) caught in the crossfire. When Lupe decides to embrace his role as a Cóyotl, an Aztec word meaning "trickster," he can play the various sides against one another and, hopefully, be the last man standing when the dust clears! When Lupe embraces his destiny and goes into a dream space, we're treated to the sight of leading man Alejandro Speitzer shirtless, which we hope is a nice teaser of things to come!
