Les Fantômes (2018)

Les Fantomes (2018) is a slow-burn arthouse film about a young Austrian man named Nicolas (André Schneider) who inherits his grandmother's apartment in Paris. A young, single man in the city of lights might sound like a dream, but Nicolas ends up pretty lonely. He's gay, but the only person willing to spend time with him is an elderly woman named Natalie (Judith Magre) who encourages him to settle down with a nice girl despite knowing he spends most of his free time with male escorts. Since he's not from France, everyone from his neighbor to the cops treat him poorly when they meet him, but that's not a huge deal. His main problem is that out of nowhere, he gets a visitor who won't leave, randomly disappears, and after some awkward moments Nicolas realizes he's the only one who can see this strange dude. Yes, Nicolas appears to be playing host to a ghost! Perhaps this specter will inspire Nicolas' art to become otherworldly! We see this unwelcome, ghastly guest in one scene where André exits the shower shirtless, and the phantom is standing in a hoodie behind the door. Spooky! Luckily, he doesn't have to be alone all the time because for a few bucks he can get Pierre Emö to come on over. At one point, we see Pierre unbutton his shirt slowly and then takes off his pants to have some sexy foreplay with André. But he's not playing around, since a few seconds later and he's going cock and balls to the wind when he goes full-frontal! We see much more naked Pierre as he lays in bed with André. That naked body? Mr. Man's a serious fan! He hasn't been this horny for an emo since he went to the My Chemical Romance concert in 2007! Now that's a phantom we'd love to be haunted by!
