Like Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty in Bonnie and Clyde (1967); Emily Brobst and Edward Bossert in The Highwaymen (2019); and Dorothy Provine and Jack Hogan in The Bonnie Parker Story (1958), Ashley Judd and Luke Perry play a couple of real life bank robbers in Normal Life (1996). Based on the actual crime spree of Jeffrey and Jill Erickson, this somewhat fictionalized account renames the married couple as Chris and Pam Anderson. At least, the writers (Peg Haller and Bob Schneider) didn’t choose the names Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. Under the direction of native Chicagoan John McNaughton, this R rated flick follows a former policeman (Perry) whose manipulative wife (Judd) needs a lot of money to pay for her various addictions. When she’s not doing drugs, drinking alcohol or shopping ’til she drops, the insatiable lady is Jonsing for her hubby’s Johnson! As such, she rips Luke’s shirt off to reveal his abs. If that’s not arousing enough, we also get to see his bulging briefs while the leads roll around in bed. Best off, Mr. Perry pulls down his white undies to show off what he’s got down under. Spoiler alert: all we get to see is his nude booty. Well, isn’t that cheeky? Eventually, the ex-cop decides to go straight. But when his wanton wife convinces him to get back into the crime game, they both wind up losing everything — including their lives. In other words, the only one who will experience a happy ending is you!
