In a genre filled with everything from genetically enhanced genius sharks trying to sink an undersea research vessel to sharks sucked into a tornado and turned into a moving cyclone of teeth, the genius of the Open Water franchise is how simple their plots are.Open Water (2003) centered around an American couple who got left behind by their boat while scuba diving in Australia and were ravaged by sharks after the direness of their situation had set in. Open Water 2: Adrift (2006) kept things even simpler. When a bunch of high-school friends take a swim off the side of their rich bud's boat, they neglect to put the ladder down. That's it. The whole lot of them are annoyingly close to the boat but can't get on top of it. Then the sharks come and start chomping. Dan (Eric Dane) owns the boat, and since he thinks it'll be funny to tackle his aquaphobe wife Amy (Susan May Pratt) into the water when they're the last two not swimming, it sure looks like he's the one to blame. And blame him they do! In between all the yelling, there's plenty of brainstorming, various attempts to get back on the boat, attempts to flag down other boaters, and all sorts of other stuff. You’ll be drowning in the ripped tide that are Richard Speight Jr and Eric Dane in this movie. At one point in the movie, both those fellas end up swimming naked, which lets us see both their asses, a bit of submerged submarine shadow, and even Mr. Dane's butthole! We'll give you a minute to let your mind drift off thinking about the opportunities. Niklaus Lange also ends up naked, using a knife to try and climb the side of the yacht. Open Water 2: Adrift will have you opening your legs if you catch our drift!
