They say “The Devil is in the details,” but that voracious villain is also in the movies — from Peter Cooke in Bedazzled (1967) to Elizabeth Hurley in Bedazzled (2000). In between, we’ve seen Clay Tanner in Rosemary’s Baby (1968), Paul Williams in Phantom of the Paradise (1974), Ernest Borgnine in The Devil’s Rain (1975), David Warner in Time Bandits (1981), George Burns in Oh, God! You Devil! (1984), Jack Nicholson in The Witches of Eastwick (1987), Max von Sydow in Needful Things (1993), Viggo Mortensen in The Prophecy (1995), Billy Crystal in Deconstructing Harry (1997), Gabriel Byrne in End of Days (1999), Dustin Hoffman in The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999), and both Harvey Keitel and Rodney Dangerfield in Little Nicky (2000). Of course, we can’t forget Al Pacino in The Devil’s Advocate (1997). This supernatural flick follows Floridian defense attorney Kevin Lomax (Keanu Reeves) to New York City. Since he’s never lost a case, he is offered a job at a big law firm run by John Milton (Pacino). Lit fans will note the same-named poet wrote “Paradise Lost” (1667) about Satan tempting Adam and Eve. As such, Lomax takes a bite out of the Big Apple with his new position — working for the Devil! Speaking of positions, a topless Keanu climbs atop his onscreen wife (Charlize Theron) in a fit of passion. When Ms. Theron pulls down the boxers on Mr. Reeves she reveals his bare buns. As you can guess, he’s hot as Hell!
