You Don't Mess with the Zohan (2008)

Action and satire bump heads in the PG-13 comedy You Don’t Mess with the Zohan (2008). Thanks to a script by leading man Adam Sandler (as well as funnymen Judd Apatow and Robert Smigel), this movie includes a host of jokes and some sexy shots of Mr. Sandler as the titular character. The plot begins when Zohan, an Israeli anti-terrorism commando, fakes his death and flees to the United States to pursue his dream of becoming a hairdresser. Wielding blow dryers, straightening irons and thinning shears as if they were bazookas, Zohan works his way into a salon position by seductively charming his elderly clientele such as Mrs. Greenhouse (Charlotte Rae). The movie also includes Emmanuelle Chriqui as Zohan’s love interest, Lainie Kazan as Zohan’s mom, and Rob Schneider as Zohan’s enemy, with Dave Matthews, John Turturro and Kevin Nealon rounding out the supporting cast. If that’s not enough of a star-studded lineup, check out the cameos by Chris Rock, Henry Winkler, John McEnroe, Kevin James, Mariah Carey, and Adam’s real life relations Jackie Sandler and Sadie Sandler. Even though this raunchy flick was dissed by critics, it wound up being a big box office hit. Perhaps that’s because the film showcases Adam in skintight costumes. In fact, the hilarious hottie steams up the screen when he reveals his bare chest and his body double’s nude booty on the beach. Considering the arousing view, maybe Don’t Mess with the Zohan should have been called Don’t Mess with the Mess in Your Pants!
