Jade (1995)

During the 1990s, the motion picture industry was marked by mainstream erotic thrillers — from A Kiss Before Dying (1991) to Eyes Wide Shut (1999). Following Michael Douglas in Basic Instinct (1992) and Willem Dafoe in Body of Evidence (1992) is David Caruso in Jade (1995). Based on the song by Loreena McKennitt, this R rated flick follows clinical psychologist Anna Katrina Maxwell-Gavin (Linda Fiorentino) who may or may not be involved in a brutal murder of Patrice Jacinto (Angie Everhart). It’s up to San Francisco D.A. David Corelli (Caruso) to investi-bate the situation. As luck would have it, he used to be sexually involved with Anna. Nevertheless, his deduction skills are put to the test. When evidence emerges, David must admit it appears his ex is involved with the crime. Of course, the true crime is the fact that Mr. Caruso didn’t feel like whipping out his NYPD pistol on camera. No wonder, Warren Beatty was initially offered the part. Under the direction of William Friedkin, this crime drama introduces us to Matt Gavin (Chazz Palminteri), DA Arnold Clifford (Kevin Tighe), Det. Karen Heller (Donna Murphy), Gov. Lew Edwards (Richard Crenna), and the skin on Robin Thomas. Even though he doesn’t expose his John Thomas, Mr. Thomas does flash his abs, sack, back and ass while getting kinky with Ms. Fiorentino in bed. As you can guess, Robin’s muscular physique puts the thrills into this thriller. In other words, the skintastic actor’s portrayal of Mr. Green is giving Mr. Man blue balls!
