Scary Movie (2000)

Parody movies might get a bad rap these days, but there was a time before the dark days of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer when Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, and Keenan Ivory Wayans teamed up to create the hilarious spoof of stuff like Scream (1996) and I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) known asScary Movie (2000). With Keenan directing and Shawn and Marlon penning the script, the film follows a group of teenagers as they are picked off one by one by a Ghostface mask wearing killer a year after they accidentally murder a man by running him over with their car while drinking and driving. Franchise star Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris) has been getting all sorts of mysterious notes and is convinced there's a killer stalking her and her friends after the murder of busty babe Drew Decker (Carmen Electra). Her friend Buffy (get it?) (Shannon Elizabeth) is a pageant queen dating Greg (Lochlyn Munro), while the stoner Shorty (Marlon Wayans) occasionally warns them about horror tropes when he's not smoking dope. Cindy's boyfriend Bobby (Jon Abrahams) seems sketchy, but not as strange as the obviously gay football player Ray (Shawn Wayans) pretending to want to screw his girlfriend Brenda (Regina Hall). Everything from the handheld camera stuff from The Blair Witch Project (1999) and the bullet time scene from The Matrix (1999) gets skewered in this one, but even among all the mocking there's some seriously good skin. Shawn Wayans has a funny scene where he's in the locker room in just a towel ogling all his teammate's asses. Lochlyn Munro uses a prosthetic for a scene showing the big tough guy has a baby dick, while Officer Doofy (Dave Sheridan) shows he might be dumb, but he sure is hung thanks to a penis bulge shot in a tiny pair of boxer briefs. Kurt Fuller accidentally shows Cindy a shot of him in a Speedo, while Jon Abrahams lets Cindy ride him but she's a bit angry and violent for this softie with a hard belly! Stay for the absurd money shot that leaves her stuck to the ceiling! What's your favorite scary movie? This one, thanks to all the skin! Scary Movie will scare your pants off!
