Although music was the primary medium to showcase Liverpool legend John Lennon, filmmakers also accessed his assets. The Beatles icon appeared on the big screen as himself in Richard Lester’s live action romps A Hard Day’s Night (1964) and Help! (1965); in the animated feature Yellow Submarine (1968); and in the documentaries Bottoms (1967) and Let It Be (1970), among others. The talented Mr. Lennon also produced and directed several short films, including Two Virgins (1968), Fly (1970), and our favorite Erection (1972). After John’s untimely death in 1980, parts of his life story were portrayed by Jared Harris in Two of Us (2000); Richard Sherman and Tom J. Raider in The Killing of John Lennon (2006); Paul Rudd in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007); Aaron Johnson (aka Aaron Taylor-Johnson) in Nowhere Boy (2009); and Chris Eccleston in Lennon Naked (2010). Of course, we can’t forget Ian Hart in The Hours and Times (1991). Set in 1963, Christopher Münch’s drama speculates about the relationship between Lennon (Hart) and his manager Brian Epstein (David Angus). While vacationing in Spain, they encounter Marianne (Stephanie Pack), Miguel (Sergio Moreno), and Quiñones (Robin McDonald). The fictional John and Brian also get better acquainted with each other back at their hotel room. This is especially true when Ian slips off his clothes to take a bath, flashing the camera with his ass and the tip of his cock! If that’s not erotic enough, Hart makes out with a shirtless Angus. All you need is lust!
